Stone paper is much harder to rip or tear compared to traditional paper. Pulling hard on the paper will cause it to stretch. However, any sharp cutting tool such as scissors will cut through the paper smoothly.

Only the inner pages of the notebook are completely waterproof. The cover, rear pocket, and ribbon can still absorb some water.

Ballpoint pens, pencils, markers, gel pens, crayons, and pastels work best on stone paper. We do not recommend using fountain pens as they take a longer time to dry, and stone paper may cause the nib of the fountain pen to wear away over time.

Yes, pencil erasers work even more effectively on stone paper because it is so smooth. Friction-based pen erasers will also work.

Yes—you can use acrylic, oil, and watercolor paints. If you choose to work with water-based paints, you will need to wait a bit longer for it to completely dry as the stone paper does not absorb water like traditional paper.

Stone paper can be recycled as a number 2 plastic, but it must be removed from the notebook cover and binding. Please check your local regulations to confirm.

We are currently working on a return system where customers can send us their used stone paper for it to be recycled directly into new stone paper.

Stone paper is not biodegradable, but it is photodegradable—meaning it will break down in the presence of sunlight over 12-18 months. However, we do not recommend that you dispose of stone paper outdoors or in compost.

Yes, stone paper can be easily folded. While stone paper is thicker and more durable, it folds just like traditional paper.
